I do glass engravings (not etching) for over 2 years now and really love this kind of crafting. Or is it a kind of painting? ;-)

Hi, uh, when you're engraving, I presume you often use a reference picture? How do you manage to work all that out so correctly? Sorry, that's the worst possible phrasing I could've used for that question. I hope you know what I mean...

(do you use a camera lucida, or just a reference, or memory?)

Darf ich dich was fragen?
Erzeugst du den Schatten mit verschiedenen Gravurspitzen oder mit Druck oder Ähnlichem?
Ich habs schon mit ein paar Spitzen versucht, aber so wie du hab ichs leider nicht hingekriegt ^^

wenn das Glas erstmal graviert ist, kann man es wieder transparenter bekommen indem man es poliert. Dazu gibt es verschiedene Poliermittel wie Silikonscheiben- und Spitzen. Ich bevorzuge da Silikonräder von Proxxon.
